Characteristics of the vintage:

Winter and spring with abundant rainfall providing the vineyard with optimal water reserves to face the typical hot and dry summer at this altitude levels. A maturation end without rains and with great thermal oscillations, presented a late harvest, concentrated and excellent quality. Dominio Basconcillos “Finca de Altura” shows a fine nose where the fruity character typifies the highest selected soils, dominating the red fruits and subtle roasted nuances. Fresh and elegant mineral touch in the mouth.

 

Vinification:

Harvest by hand in 12 kilo plastic crates and selection by hand at the reception hall. Wine making process by gravity. Cold prefermentative maceration for 5 days at 5aC. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation at 20-24ºC. Malolactic fermentation at 20oC in Inox vats and 8 months ageing in French oak barrels at 12ºC and 75% humidity. Lees sterred every 15 days.

 

Tasting Notes:

Cherry red color of high layer, its violet rim shows its perfect condition
of youth. On the nose, fine ripe varietal aromas of fine ink. Raspberry, currants, blackberries and undergrowth notes that integrate seamlessly with fine and elegant torrefacts of their 8 months in new barrels. In aeration mineral notes from stone to rifle of the high altitude and its soils appear Limestones that make it even more complex if possible. In the mouth it surprises with its exceptional kindness, Its passage in the mouth is wide, fleshy and of exceptional acidity. Harmonious ripe and soft tannins that fill the palate with sensations nice. The fruity aromas typical of the variety are maintained in retronasal.

Pairing:

The best ally of the Mediterranean diet. Iberian sausages, grilled meat, lamb and roast pig. Due to its quality maturity and freshness, it perfectly matches with fatty fish, such as salmon and turbot.

Characteristics of the vintage:

Winter and spring were characteristic due to the low temperatures and also low rainfall. Summer was very dry and with high temperatures. The good water reserves of the plants and a final grape-ripening period with absence of rainfall and with temperature fluctuations, gave as a result a great quality harvest. The wine obtained from this harvest is very fruity on the nose, with a predominance of red fruits and with a persistent and fresh palate.

Tasting Notes:

High robe of intense cherry-red color and garnet rim. In nose appears very intense with plenty of red-fruit hints (cranberries and raspberries). Vanilla and cocoa notes appear subtly combined with mineral hints typical of the calcareous soil, which make it even more elegant. In mouth smooth entry, mature and velvety tannin. Elegant, long, fresh and well-balanced palate.

It is recommended to uncork 20 minutes before serving it to a temperature between 15 and 18ºC.

Pairing:

Perfect with rice and risottos, roasted chicken, casseroles, poultry stews and grilled fish.

Winter and the wettest spring in recent years gave the vineyard optimal water reserves throughout the summer, it was hot and dry. An end of maturation without rains and with great thermal oscillations, gave as a result a vintage of excellent quality. Perfect balance alcohol and acidity allows a fresh and elegant palate.

Vinification:

Manual harvest on the vineyard in boxes of 12 kilos and selection table in the cellar reception. Gravity processing to preserve all organoleptic properties of our highest quality grapes. Cold maceration at 5°C for 3 days. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and temperature controlled.
It was passed through French oak barrels and American for 6 months.

Tasting Notes:

Clean and bright cherry color. The wine of this harvest is defined in the nose for a markedly fruity character, strawberry, raspberry, blueberries, and notes limestone minerals. A very balanced wine in freshness and acidity which allows a fresh mouth, with a soft tannin, long and persistent finish.

It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 15 and 18ºC.

Viticulture on the property, located in the highest and coldest Continental zone. Manual harvest in boxes of 12 kilos and selection table at the reception in the winery. Gravity processing to conserve all the organoleptic properties
of our highest quality grapes. Cold maceration at 5ºC for 5 days. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts and controlled temperature. Post-fermentative maceration for 2 days and malolactic fermentation in barrel on its own lees. It was passed through a new French oak barrel for 15 months.

Tasting Notes:

Delicious red cherry color, clean and bright. On the nose, it is a wine
with high intensity and persistence that highlights the perfect balance between ripe red fruit such as raspberry, cherry and blackberry; notes of cocoa, vanilla and spices typical of its passage through the barrel. A mineral background of marked personality accompanied by a polished tannin and a controlled acidity result in an elegant and voluptuous wine with a long life ahead.

It is recommended to uncork 30 minutes before serving at a temperature between 15 and 18ºC.

 

Pairing:

Ideal for roasted red meats (suckling lamb, suckling pig), grilled white meats, and small game meats such as hare and rabbit.

The low rainfall of the winter and the moderate temperatures of the spring, advanced a sprouting and flowering free of frosts. A particularly warm summer and a month of August and September of great thermal contrasts, allowed a short harvest in production but of great quality and long life.

Elaboration by gravity to preserve all the organoleptic properties of our grape of the highest quality. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and controlled temperature. Step through barrel of maximum selection and French new oak for 24 months.
