The Basconcillos Family
The quality and character of our winery originate not only in our exceptional land.
The great professionals involved in the project led by the Basconcillos family are its heart and soul that applies years of accumulated knowledge and work to the service of our vineyard, and our clients.
Two generations of the Basconcillos family come together. Each with its own style and with all of its members constantly evolving and learning.
A common goal aligns us: to develop Dominio Basconcillos into one of the most respected wineries of our region, expanding our global presence and prestige, while remaining focused on our consumers.
“Work, humility, and sustainability with shared goals are the essence of our project”
Paraje Alto del Cura
20 years ago, José María Basconcillos was searching for a special spot for a vineyard in one of the areas of greatest tradition in winemaking of Ribera del Duero, where, Benedictine monks originally brought their knowledge in the cultivation of vines generating a tradition that continues today. The spot Jose María discovered was an unexpected valley, 1,000 metres above sea level with a unique micro-climate especially well suited to cultivating grapes for fine wines.
The combination of a privileged location in the heights and an uncompromising dedication to excellence has resulted in fruits with most intense flavour and aromas. A noble historical past and an unparalleled tradition in winemaking permeate the vineyards of Dominio Basconcillos set upon the long gentle slopes that characterize the geography of the Ribera del Duero.
Vineyard and Winery make up the property (the Dominio). Every detail is studied, so that the work of caring for the vineyards harvesting and processing the grapes are performed coherently with absolute respect for the land, the fruit in concordance with the philosophy of Dominio Basconcillos.
